Questions

Are you Covid safe?

Yes! We are fully up to date on current vaccination options and take our cleanliness very seriously.
The room is cleaned after every client and a 15 minute window is allowed between appointments to cater to small numbers in the studio.

What is fascia?

Fascia is a connective tissue that supports, infuses and connects every structure without interruption in the body. When healthy, this web like system allows energy and information to flow through the body, however whenever trauma occurs these messages are interupted due to the fascia increasing its pressure, causing restriction, dehydration and lack of flow. The fascia will then act like an internal straight jacket causing pain and dysfunction until released and stretched out.

What should I expect in my first treatment?

You will be asked to complete a consultation form which you and your therapist will go over together. Once your goals and desires have been discussed, your therapist will assess your posture and general movement to discover whether you have any restrictions in the body.

Depending on your needs, your treatment may then consist of varying deep and soft tissue techniques, ranging from sustained tensile stretches to soft tissue massage. Performed in a quiet setting, this allows you to fully explore the releases and changes that are occurring in your body, encouraging the body to relieve any trauma that may be present.

Your therapist may educate you on some stretches and exercises to take home, enabling you to continue the healing process.

What should I wear?

A certain amount of undress is usually required, however you will be asked to leave your underwear on.
If receiving Myofascial release, a sports bra and loose or comfortable shorts is appropriate.
All treatments are conducted with full draping using towels so as to make you feel comfortable and warm.

How might my body react after Myofascial Release (MFR)?

As the body adjusts to any realigning that has occurred, it is likely that you will feel relief from these troubling problems, as well some possible tenderness where the therapist has worked. Your energy levels can increase and sleeping patterns begin to settle.

How many treatments will I need?

Everyone is different, therefore after your first session your therapist will discuss your options with you to provide the best possible plan for you.
